The Palestinian Health Ministry has reported at least 200 people have died after Israel and Hamas ended their temporary truce.

Both sides blame each other for the failure to extend a humanitarian truce in Gaza.

Many of Israel's attacks this morning were focused on the Khan Younis area in southern Gaza, where the military said it had struck more than 50 Hamas targets with airstrikes, tank fire and its navy.

People in parts of southern Gaza are being urged to evacuate after the end of the temporary ceasefire.

Reports say Israeli artillery fire was shot into Gaza.

The renewed hostilities have also heightened concerns for 136 hostages in Gaza who, according to the Israeli military, are still being held captive.

Hamas has also been launching rockets at Israeli cities since this morning, with defence systems intercepting many of them.

Qatari and Egyptian mediators say they are working to reimplement a pause in fighting in Israel and Palestine.

Protestors in Cork today will stage a ‘die-in’ in Cork today to call for an end to the Israel-Gaza war.

The demonstration organised by Cork Palestine Solidarity Campaign will get underway in Grand Parade at 1pm this afternoon.

A similar demonstration will take place in the Garden of Remembrance at Parnell Square at the same time.
