At least one person has died after a fire at a property in Dublin city centre.

Some Red Line Luas services were paused earlier as a result but have since resumed.

A body has been taken from the property on Parkgate Street, where a fire burned this morning.

The interior of the building, which is next door to the Ashling Hotel, appears to have sustained significant damage and one of the upstairs windows is broken.

Gardaí were alerted to the blaze at around 9.15am - several fire brigade units were dispatched but had left before midday.

The building remains cordoned off as investigations continue.

Luas services  resumed after halting earlier, with some delays expected.
