There has been an increase of 9.7% in trips to Ireland this summer.
Figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show there were 219,200 more trips here between June and the end of August when compared to the same quarter in 2013.
The total number of trips to Ireland was over 2.4 million, representing an increase of 9.7%.
The highest rise in overseas visitors was from the US, by 18%, to 516,700.
While trips by residents of European countries - other than the UK - increased by 11.2% to 883,700.
And trips to Ireland from other areas rose by 13.4% to 173,100.
Meanwhile the number of trips made by Irish residents in the same period rose by 1.9% to 2,180,700.
The CEO of Tourism Ireland, Niall Gibbons, said "This was a strong performance and reflects the sentiment we are hearing from our tourism industry partners overseas and here at home."
"We are determined to ensure that tourism growth continues. We have a really extensive autumn campaign in full swing right now - aimed at boosting late-season travel to the island of Ireland from around the globe and keeping this momentum going," he added.
