Suntory, the Japanese whiskey brand, has just received an award for an advertising campaign from last year that saw it use a wood cutter to carve the most intricate ice cubes ever created.
The adverts, created by the TBWA agency, include perfectly clear and chillingly cool representations of pop culture icons like Batman, the Sphinx, a Mac computer, Deadmau5, Super Mario, and Michelangelo’s David.
Miwako Fujiwara, who helped create the ice works, said the CNC router machine used to etch each one was chilled to -7 degrees to prevent them from melting.
"A touch of chilled whiskey polishes the surface of the ice and gives a beautiful shine to the sculpture," he added.
