The famous Chrysler Building in New York is set to be put up for sale.
The Wall Street Journal reports the owners of the tower have hired property group CBRE to conduct the sale.
The 77-floor structure was completed in 1930 by architect William Van Alen.
At the time it was the tallest man-made structure in the world - however, the Empire State Building took the title just a few months later.
The building is clad in white brick, and dark gray brickwork is used as horizontal decoration to enhance the window rows.

Located at Lexington Avenue, it houses a variety of tenants.
It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1976.
A statement of significance in historical papers filed with the US Department of the Interior reads: "The Chrysler Building is a monument to America's 'machine age' - an era when naive optimism believed the salvation of the world was the machine.
"Everything from skyscrapers to lamps were supposed to be machine made even if they were not."
"[T]he Chrysler is probably one of the most glorious statements of this period in our architectural history."

As the name suggests, the Chrysler Building was initially owned by the Chrysler family who moved out and sold it in 1953.
The current owners are the Abu Dhabi Investment Council and developer Tishman Speyer.
The potential sale price is unknown.
The Chrysler Building website was offline at the original time of publication.
