There's been severe traffic distruption in Dublin this evening after a multi-car crash on the M1 motorway. 

AA Roadwatch says southbound traffic is being diverted, while two northbound lanes have since re-opened. 

It's not known how many cars were involved in the crash but Gardaí say they're dealing with a "live operation" in the area.
