The 45-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured and taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, where he later died.

A post mortem is due to take place.

A forensic examination has been carried out at the scene, and the road has since reopened.

Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses.

They say they're particularly interested to speak with a pedal cyclist who was also at the scene and may have witnessed the crash.

Anyone with information can contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01-666-7000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda station.
