A man in his 50s has been killed in an overnight accident in Co Donegal.

The collision - between a motorcycle and two cars - happened shortly after 10:30pm last night at Lisfannon near Burt Chapel.

The motorcyclist aged in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.

One of the drivers, a male in his 30s, was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry with what were described as minor injuries.

The other driver was uninjured.

The N13 Letterkenny to Derry road is closed, with diversions in place through Burnfoot.

The man is the second motorcyclist to die on Donegal roads in the past few days.

Hugh Shalvey (34) - who was originally from Monaghan - died when his bike struck a jeep towing a trailer on Wednesday afternoon at Oakfield Demense.
