Brexit will top the agenda, when the Taoiseach and the British Prime Minister hold a face to face meeting in Sweden today.

Leo Varadkar is expected to tell Theresa May he will not accept a hard border under any circumstances.

It will be the first time the pair have met since a document emerged from Europe suggesting the North stay in the EU after Brexit.

Two men are due in court this morning after a massive drugs seizure in Co Meath.

They were arrested when gardaí uncovered over €7m worth of cannabis and cocaine hidden in two storage units in Ashbourne.

The men - who are both in their 30s - are set to appear before a sitting of Trim District Court.

Robert Mugabe has been pictured shaking hands with the Zimbabwe's military chief the day after the army seized power.

It is reported the 93-year-old insists he remains the country's legitimate ruler and is refusing to quit.

Mr Mugabe has been in military custody, reportedly with his wife Grace, since the army stepped in earlier this week.

A housing charity is to provide up 190 social homes across the country.

Túath Housing buys the homes from the Housing Agency using funds of up to €15m from AIB.

The first tranche was used to complete the purchase and repair of 21 homes in Donegal, Westmeath, Galway, Kildare and Wexford.

Sylvester Stallone has denied that he and a bodyguard sexually assaulted a 16-year-old fan in Las Vegas in the 1980s.

The girl alleged the Rocky actor said he would "beat her head in" if she told anyone.

A spokeswoman for the 71-year-old actor called it a "ridiculous, categorically false" story.
