The Irish Defence Forces have taken part in an international operation that has led to a major cocaine seizure off the English coast.

The 'Nomad' was detained in UK waters by British Border Force officers last night.

Five men have been arrested.

US President Donald Trump says he will pull out of the World Trade Organisation if it doesn’t treat the US better.

In an interview with Bloomberg, he said: “If they don’t shape up, I would withdraw from the WTO”.

Trump claims the agreement establishing the body is the "single worst trade deal ever made”.

UCD Students' Union says it has suspended the sale of student Leap Cards because of concerns over data protection.

The cards, which offer student discounts for transport, are sold by students' unions around the country.

The information used in the student version of the card is different to regular cards.

The UCD union now claims the information it takes is in breach of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Electric Picnic 2018 gets under way today in Co Laois today.

Around 55,000 people will flock to Stradbally Hall over the weekend for the three day music and arts festival.
