A Dublin criminal has been shot dead in Spain.

34-year-old Gary Hutch was gunned down in an apartment complex near Marbella at half past eleven yesterday morning.

It's reported his attacker wore a balaclava and escaped in a car which was later found abandoned.

A police operation targeting child abusers in Northern Ireland claims to have protected 32 children from harm, by making 25 arrests. 

Detectives working with the UK's National Crime Agency have charged four people.

They expect more prosecutions once seized computers are checked.

INMO members say they're concerned over patient safety and overcrowding in the department, and they may vote for strike action.

They claim hospital management is refusing to report the extent of patients who are treated on trolleys.
