Morning top 5: Taskforce meeting over hospital overcrowding; post mortem to take place after teenager killed in Dublin

The Emergency Department Taskforce is to meet this morning to discuss hospital overcrowding.

Talks were brought forward by a week, after the number of patients on trolleys reached an all-time high of 612 on Tuesday.

Last night, the HSE announced several steps to help - including extra beds and help from private hospitals.

A post mortem is due to take place today on the body of a boy stabbed to death in Dublin yesterday.

The 17-year-old was attacked at a house at Jobstown in Tallaght at around 3pm.

The scene is still sealed off this morning for forensic tests.

The group occupying Apollo House in Dublin will meet with the Housing Minister today.

Home Sweet Home say they will only leave the building if NAMA properties are made available for social housing.

The US Vice President Joe Biden has told Donald Trump to "grow up".

Mr Trump will today be briefed on allegations that Russia was involved in cyber hacking around the US election - despite his continued doubts.

In a television interview, Vice President Biden told the President-elect that it's "time to be an adult. You're president - time to do something".

Four people have been charged after a video showing a man with special needs being beaten and tortured was streamed live on Facebook.

Police have described the attack as "sickening", and prosecutors have filed hate crime and aggravated kidnapping charges against four people accused of being involved.
