Morning top 5: Croatia accused of breaking international law; and Ireland to take on Canada in Rugby World Cup

The Hungarian government is accusing Croatia of breaching European laws by sending buses and a train full of unregistered migrants over the border.

Croatia says it's been overwhelmed by the numbers arriving, with 17-thousand descending there over the past 3-days.

Meanwhile the US Secretary of State John Kerry will meet with Britain's Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond later to discuss the crisis.

The Immigrant Council of Ireland is urging the Government to keep the Irish navy's presence in the Mediterranean under constant review.

Ireland is committed to having a vessel there until at least November.

It comes after the LE Niamh rescued a further 380 people off the Libyan coast yesterday.

The Minister for Health is claiming that progress is being made in recruiting more doctors to the HSE.

Leo Varadkar says there are almost 600 more doctors and dentists employed compared to this time last year.

He said many former agency staff, locums and temps had accepted proper contracts.

Minister Varadkar is launching a Medical Careers Day at Dublin Castle this morning.

The event is a joint initiative by the HSE and the Medical Council and is designed to attract more medical professionals to take up work here.

Organisers say a protest in Dublin this afternoon will highlight what they call an "attack on civil liberties in Ireland".

It is after a number of people were charged in connection with an incident involving the Tánaiste at an anti-water charge protest in Dublin last year.

Protesters will meet at 1 o'clock this afternoon at the Central Bank in Dublin.

Thousands of fans have made their way to Cardiff ahead of Ireland's opening Rugby World Cup game.

Joe Schmidt's men take on Canada in their first game of the tournament this afternoon.

Last night the World Cup got underway as hosts England beat Fiji in the opener.
