Swing-gate TD Maria Bailey has been dropped from the Fine Gael election ticket in Dun Laoghaire.

Earlier this year an internal review found that she had overstated the extent of injuries she suffered falling off a swing in a Dublin hotel.

She had taken out a personal injuries claim against the Dean Hotel but later withdrew it.

It marks an increase of 35% last year.

The school shooter that murdered two of his classmates before turning the gun on himself in California yesterday had just turned 16-years-old.

The teenager opened fire on his 16th birthday after posting a cryptic message on Instagram.

A 16-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy were killed in the attack, while three other teens were injured.

The shooter survived his suicide attempt and is in a “grave condition” in hospital.
