There is more good weather news this morning. Not only do we have a really bad month to look forward to but we can take consolation in the fact that July was the worst month recorded in 22 years.
The Armagh Observatory recorded a mean temperature for the month of just 14.3 degrees Celsius, which is about 1.4 degress C colder than the average temperature for the month.
There were also several cold nights over the course of the month with the Observatory claiming that the 15th was particularly low.
Meanwhile, Met Éireann is warning of the ongoing risk of heavy showers across next week.
According to the Irish Independent, Professor Mark Bailey of the Armagh Observatory stated that Ireland's weather is the coldest for almost three decades.
