The Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht says she's received assurances that this week's Star Wars shoot on Skellig Michael did not have an impact on the island's protected birdlife.

It's been confirmed the three-day shoot off the Kerry coast has ended.

Minister Heather Humphreys says experts supervising the shoot were satisfied that environmental guidelines were followed.

Wildlife experts were concerned about the impact on bird life on the island - which is a UNESCO world heritage site.
