Met Eireann has issued a weather warning - as gale force winds will reach up to 110 kilometres per hour in some parts of the country today.
The warning is for Munster, Leinster, Connacht, Donegal, Monaghan and Cavan.
Winds will be strongest in western coastal areas.
Spot flooding is also forecast - but the showers and winds are expected to ease by 11 o'clock tonight.
However, Met Eireann Meterologist Harm Luijkx says a second band of wet and windy weather will cross the country tomorrow:
But despite the wind and the rain, temperatures today will be mild, with the mercury reaching 15 degrees in some areas.
It looks like the windy weather may be good news for some however....
Here's two lads enjoying the windy conditions, somewhere in the West of Ireland.
