Researchers who are attempting to create a cancer drug said they may have established a dual purpose drug.

The second function of the drug would act as a male birth control pill.

The drug which is not ready for human testing has been tested on mice in the US and it apparently makes the testicles forget how to create sperm.

This move is temporary and hence reversible – after the mice stopped taking the drug they became fertile again and produced normal offspring.

What we want to know is would the women in Ireland trust their male counterparts to remember to take the contraceptive pill?

Would men find it as important to take the pill because they will not be the ones carrying the baby for 9 months?
