The arson attack on a Donegal Orange Hall last night has been condemned from the Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland and the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Gardai have confirmed that the blaze, which broke out in Convoy at around 4am, was started deliberately. The main hall was gutted and the roof was destroyed in the fire.

It's the second orange order hall to be deliberately burnt down in Donegal in the past three weeks.

Minister Charlie Flanagan said "the attacks go against the vision of a peaceful and reconciled Ireland set out in the Good Friday Agreement".

Northern Ireland Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness says he is 'infuriated' by the incident.

McGuinness condemned the incident, saying:

“I’m absolutely infuriated and I want to make it absolutely clear that, in my opinion, whatever was behind the motivation of those who were responsible for these deeds, there wasn’t anything republican about it, there wasn’t anything political about it, but there was everything criminal about it,” he said.
