The Mater Hospital in Dublin says it's expecting significant demand at its A&E this weekend because of a busy weekend of sporting action.
Traditionally the hospital sees a 30% increase in demand for its services during major sporting events.
It's asking all non critically ill patients to contact their GP before going to the Emergency Department.

Ireland's opening match in the rugby world cup takes place in Cardiff tomorrow and the All Ireland Football Final takes place in Croke Park on Sunday
The Mater is warning that anyone presenting could face a long wait for treatment
