There was a massive increase in planning permissions for homes in the second quarter of the year.

Approvals went up 87.4% when compared with the same period in 2014, to over 3,000 dwelling units.

Permissions for houses went up by almost 77%, while apartment approvals soared by 227%, although from a relatively low base, from 114 to 373.
