The pampered pooches are having the fur on their heads carefully sculpted into perfect circles or squares, with the final creations posted online in a viral trend that sees dog owners competing for the title of the roundest or cubiest canine in town.
Dog grooming dates back to the era of Elizabeth I in 16th century Britain, but truly made the world stage when embrace by the ever fashionable French. Poodles became the official dog of the French court in the 18th century, when salons catering to clipping the fur inter ever more elaborate designs became a trend.
