A 20-year-old man is to go on trial for the murder of a teenager in North Dublin earlier this year.

Brandon Gavin, of Brookdale Road, Rivervalley, Swords, was previously charged with causing serious harm to Marius Mamaliga at Forest Court in Swords on 23rd February this year.

Mr Mamaliga, who was 19, was critically injured in the incident, and passed away in hospital three days later.

Mr Gavin appeared before Cloverhill District Court this morning, where the charge against him was upgraded to murder, and the previous charge withdrawn.

He was remanded in custody to appear before the court again on July 26th for a book of evidence.
