Gardaí are investigating after a man was stabbed a number of times in Cork city last night.

Investigators said the 30-year-old was stabbed Ardmore Ave, Knocknaheeney at around 10:50pm.

He was taken to Cork University Hospital where his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

The scene has been preserved while Gardaí carry out a technical investigation.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
