A Cork man has been remanded in custody after being charged with the manslaughter of a French homeless man during a special sitting of Court District Court this morning.

22-year-old Daniel O'Sullivan of Carrowkeel in Mallow was charged with unlawfully killing 37-year-old Vincent Morgain on Lower Oliver Plunkett Street in Cork on the 10th of September.

Mr Morgain died from the injuries he sustained five days after the incident in the Mercy University Hospital.

Today Judge Olann Kelleher refused bail and remanded Mr O'Sullivan in custody. He will appear in court again on Thursday.
