A man has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Liam Bennett who died after being punched in Dublin last August.

Alan Hatch of South Circular Road in Kilmainham admitted killing Mr. Bennett (46) who was critically injured after banging his head off the ground in Inchicore.

He spent several days fighting for life after being punched once in the head outside a property at Tyrconnell Road on August 1st last.

her banged his head off the ground after the punch knocked him over. He was found unconscious just after 9:30pm that evening and died in hospital one week later.

Alan Hatch (37) was arrested after gardai gathered CCTV footage from the area and he was charged with manslaughter following Liam's death.

Mr. Hatch was brought to court today and pleaded guilty to the unlawful killing of Mr. Bennett.

Some of the victim's family members were in the court room for his plea and Judge Mary-Ellen Ring adjourned sentencing to allow them prepare victim impact reports.

She remanded Hatch in custody until October 30th when he will be sentenced on this and other matters.
