Police in Northern Ireland are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault outside a fast food outlet on Donegall Place in Belfast during the early hours of Sunday, 14th August.

It was reported that at around 12.35am an altercation took place between two males inside the premises before continuing outside.

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury. His condition is described as serious.

The suspect is described being aged in his early 20's, of slim to medium build, with cropped dark hair shaved on both sides.

Detective Sergeant Natalie McNally is appealing for anyone who was in the area of Donegall Place or High Street and who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact Detectives at Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference number 55 of 14/08/16.
