Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Dublin this morning, which has left a man in a serious condition.

The man (25) was hit by a car as he was walking at the junction of the Crumlin Road and Bangor Road at around 6am.

He was taken to St James's Hospital where his condition is described as serious.

The road remains closed while gardaí examine the scene and diversions are in place.
