A man has appeared in court, charged in connection with an incident in which another man was shot in a car by a garda in Limerick, last week.
31-year old Aurimas Petraska, a Lithuanian national, with an address at Church Street, Rathkeale in Limerick, was charged with stealing clothes, cosmetics and perfume, worth over €160,000, during burglaries at pharmacies and a boutique in Cork, Tipperary, and Limerick.
The driver of the car, a 36 year old man, is being treated for serious injuries at University Hospital Limerick.
Mr Petraska was remanded in custody to appear before Newcastle West District Court next week.
