A man is in hospital this evening following a stabbing in Dublin.

It happened at around 3:30am this morning on Reuben Street in Rialto, when a fight broke out between two men, one of whom was armed with a knife.

One of the men, a 39-year-old man, was stabbed in the hand and received serious injuries to one of his fingers

He was taken to St James's Hospital for treatment, where he remains this evening.

Gardaí in Kilmainham are investigating, but no arrests have yet been made.
