A man has been taken to hospital after he was hit by a Luas tram on the Green Line near Leopardstown.

The collision happened between Ballyogan Wood and Leopardstown Valley. The tram was heading north towards Dublin City Centre.

The man who was hit was a pedestrian. He has been taken to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.

The driver of the Luas tram has also been taken to hospital as a precaution.

There is currently no Luas service on the Green Line between Brides Glen and Sandyford.

Trams are operating between Sandyford and Broombridge/Parnell.

Luas has apologised to passengers for any inconvenience caused.
