Police in Florida have confirmed that a 42 year old man has been shot dead at the home of singer Olivia Newton-John.

They said that the man was working as a contractor at the house owned by the actress and her husband in a town near West Palm Beach in Florida.

An investigation surrounding the circumstances of his death has now been launched by police.

Ms Newton-John, who starred in the 1978 movie "Greece" was not at home at the time of the incident.
