A man is being treated in a Dublin hospital for serious head injuries he sustained at a park in the city overnight.

The man was found outside a takeaway in Clongriffin, Dublin 13, at about 12.30 this morning.

He was brought to Beaumont hospital, where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Gardaí say they don't know what happened to him, and have cordoned off an area between the park and takeaway as they investigate.

This morning, bloodied clothes and blood spatters could be seen on the path there.
