A man in his late 40s has died following a workplace accident at the Premier Periclase plant in Drogheda, County Louth at around 4 o'clock this afternoon.
The man is believed to suffered crush injuries in a kiln; the company produces magnesia for use in the steel industry.
His remains have been brought to the morgue at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where a post-mortem will be carried out tomorrow.

The Health and Safety Authority have launched an investigation and a garda spokesman confirmed gardai will prepare a file for the Coroner.
