An elderly man has died following a two-vehicle traffic collision in Ballylongford, Co Kerry. 

The crash occurred at approximately 4pm yesterday, June 17th on the R552. 

The driver of one of these cars and sole occupant, a man understood to be his in 60s to 70s, suffered fatal injuries. 

The three occupants of the second car are currently receiving treatment for their injuries. A man and woman have been taken University Hospital Kerry while a teenage female has been airlifted to Cork University Hospital. 

The scene remains preserved this evening to allow for a technical examination, with local diversions in place.  

Investigations are ongoing, and Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to come forward to them.
