A man in 60s who was hit by a car in Youghal, Co Cork, on Thursday has died in hospital. 

He passed away in Cork University Hospital today and a postmortem is due to take place.

The collision happened on February 1st at 6.20pm at Upper Cork Hill in Youghal. 

Although the road was temporarily closed for a technical examination, it has since reopened. 

Gardaí have renewed appeals for witnesses to the crash. 

They are particularly interested in anyone who has dash cam footage recorded in the area between 6pm and 6.30pm.
