A man has died in a workplace accident in Galway.

The man in his 50s lost his life in an incident at a Quarry in Ardrahan at around 8.00am today.

The incident is understood to have involved a truck.

The man's been removed to University Hospital Galway where a post mortem's expected to be carried out.
