An Investigation's been launched into the death of a festival goer at Electric Picnic.

Picnicers called for the assistance of paramedics in the campsite between 1.30 and 2 o'clock this morning.

It's understood the man, who was 20, took ill in the campsite.

Paramedics were called to the scene at Stradbally Hall and Estate and brought him to the Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise where he was later pronouced dead.

It's not yet known what caused the man's death - A post mortem is expected to be conducted at the Hospital on Monday.

An investigation's been launched into his death - fellow picnicers are aiding Gardaí with their inquiries.

The man's family has been informed.
