Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a shooting which has left a man in a critical condition in west Dublin.

Just after half six this evening a man in his 50s was shot at a house in Rowlagh Park in Clondalkin.

He was taken to Tallaght Hospital where he's receiving treatment for his injuries.

The scene has been sealed off for a full technical examination.

Investigating officers are looking to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting or who may have seen a dark coloured car leave the scene in the direction of Neilstown Road.
