A man is due in court this afternoon after shots were allegedly fired at a house in county Louth earlier this week.

A major cross-border operation was launched after the incident in the Arthurstown area of Ardee on Wednesday.

The operation involved uniformed and armed Gardaí, as well as the PSNI.

A man in his early 30s was arrested on Friday morning and was detained under the Offences Against the State Act.

He has now been charged and is due to appear before Drogheda District Court at 5pm this afternoon.
