A 23-year-old man has appeared in court charged with offences under the Road Traffic Act.
On Saturday evening, Ronan Wilson was hit by a car in Bundoran, County Donegal and pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí allege Serge Kelly of Upper Mullaghmore failed to stop following the incident, did not render aid and did not make contact with them in the aftermath.
When cautioned, Gardaí said Mr Kelly told them, “It was wrong and I should have stopped, but I didn’t.”
Bail was on agreed on condition that Mr Kelly surrenders his passport and must sign on three times a week at Ballyshannon Garda Station.
His phone was seized and he was ordered to have no contact with any of the prosecution’s witnesses.
Mr Kelly will appear before Ballyshannon District Court again on October 20th.
