Gardaí investigating two assaults in Co Tipperary have arrested a man in his 30s.

In the first incident, which happened on Wednesday, a man in his 20s was assaulted by another man at Wilderness Grove in Clonmel.

In a second incident, a woman aged in her 20s was assaulted by a man at Western Road.

However neither victim was seriously injured.

The alleged attacker left the scene in a silver hatchback car.

A man was arrested on Thursday evening under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

He is being held at Clonmel Garda station and can be detained for up to 24 hours.
