Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 50's died following a collision on the Kilkenny/Waterford border this evening.

At around 5:15pm the man was seriously injured when his motorcycle crashed into a bridge while travelling on the R448, he was later pronounced dead in University Hospital Waterford.

The scene has been preserved and Garda forensic collision investigators have been notified.
