A man in his 20s has died following a single-vehicle car crash near Passage West, Co Cork. 

It happened at 2.30am today, February 25th, in the townland of Rathanker near Passage West. 

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, died during the crash.  

The two occupants of the car were taken to Cork University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. 

The local road in Rathanker remains closed at this time for forensic examination and traffic diversions are in place. 

Gardaí in Cork are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. 

They are particularly interested in anyone with dash-cam footage travelling on the L2474 road between Rochestown and Monkstown at the time.
