The M50 northbound was temporarily closed at Junction 9 Red Cow after a crash, leading to major traffic delays this morning.
Gardaí say the road was closed following a five-car collision at around 7.20am this morning.
Emergency services attended the scene, and no serious injuries have been reported.
All lanes north were closed, but they have since reopened.

Tailbacks are, however, being reported as a result of the earlier road closure.
AA Roadwatch reports that traffic is slow on approach from before Junction 12 Firhouse, while southbound traffic is also slow from Junction 5 Finglas.
