Are you dreaming of a white Christmas, or just want to look at it from beside a warm fireplace?

Either way you will have to travel a little to get a proper blanketing of snow this December 25th.

The Scandinavian countries and Austria are likely to see the best covering of snow over Christmas.

Levi in Finland is forecasting snow of up to 5.8cms on December 25th.

Ørsta SkiSenter in Norway will be covered in 14cms of snow early on Christmas Day.

Neighbouring Narvik will see 2.9cms of snow on the ground.

The Swedish region of Åre is forecasting 3.2cms of snow on Christmas Day.

But this comes along with a -4 temperature.

Switzerland's Engelberg region will get 12cms of snow, but that comes with a -8 temperature alert.

St Anton in Austria will be slightly colder - at -9 - with just 4cms of the white stuff.

While the Alpine resort town of Saalbach Hinterglemm will see 1.8 cms of snow with a -7 temperature.

In Russia, Krasnaya Polyana will have a good covering of up to 5.8cms of snow and a low temperature of -7.

A bit further west, Ay-Petri in Ukraine will see almost 16cms of snow fall in the early hours of Christmas Day.

Snowmen will abound...
