There were 4,400 fewer people on the Live Register last month bringing the number of people signing on to 386,200.
The unemployment rate last month was 11.6% - down from 11.7% the previous month.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate from the most recent Quarterly National Household Survey was 12.0% in the first quarter of 2014.
It saw a monthly decrease of 3,100 men and 1,300 women over the same period.
The number of long-term unemployed dropped slightly as well - there was an annual decrease of 4% in the number of long-term claimants.
Last month, 52.6% of all claimants on the Register were short-term.
While the number of persons aged 25 and over on dropped by 7.3%, and the number of persons aged under 25 also decreased by 13.8%.
