It’s been an incredibly streak of great years for LEGO, which officially knocked Mattel off the top spot as the world’s most beloved toy brand in 2014, and looks likely to retain the crown in the years to come. Having signed licensing deals with numerous movie titles, launched a successful computer-game franchise, and now its own movies, there was only one thing left to do – figure out a way to protect feet from walking on the landmine that is errant blocks and pieces lying idly on the floors of living and bedrooms worldwide.
Teaming up with Brand Station, a French advertising agency, LEGO has produced a limited-edition protective slipper as part of a holiday promotion.

The rectangular footwear are interchangeable between either feet, coming in bright red and yellow with the LEGO logo at the top of the foot. But it’s the underside where the real innovation is to be found, where a massive wad of padding on the insoles is guaranteed to protect feet from even the most egregious of LEGO pieces.
The slippers were unveiled last week, but only 1,500 pairs exist, which will be awarded at random to people who fill out a Christmas wish list on the LEGO France website.
