The Minister for Primary Care is to put her name forward for the next General Election.
Kathleen Lynch has released a statement this afternoon to confirm she will seek Labour party support to run in the Cork North Central constituency.
Minster Lynch says she's discussed areas of interest with Joan Burton and Brendan Howlin this weekend and can now put her name forward.
“I am pleased to say that I am putting my name forward to be the Labour Party candidate for Cork North Central in the upcoming election,” she said.
“I have been privileged to serve the people of Cork as their public representative for over 20 years, and I hope to continue to be their representative in Dail Eireann for some years yet.”
The selection convention will take place this Thursday.
