The LE Niamh has rescued another 125 people in the Mediterranean.
In tough conditions, with force 5 winds, the Irish naval vessel rescued the people from a rubber boat this afternoon.
The people on board are being given water, food and medical assistance where required.

The vessel is now on route to pick up another 140 people who were rescued by Italian naval vessel ITS BERGAMINI.
It brings the number of people rescued by the LE Niamh since it was deployed to the region on July 10 to almost 4,000.
